My husband creates a holiday poem every year. He writes a line of the poem on cut out snowmen or Christmas trees and puts them in our advent calendar. The kids get to hear a new line of the poem everyday when they take out their advent treat. Then on Christmas he reads the entire poem. We keep each year’s poem recorded in a journal and it is a nice trip down memory lane to go back and read them.

We make fudge the night before Christmas and play Christmas music.
Our tradition is for our family to get together during the holiday. My father makes a point to walk into the Christmas wind chimes above his seat because it makes his grandchildren laugh. And because I ONCE took a wrong turn and ended up near the airport, every year both kids ask if I had a nice trip to the airport! Last year I had a Flip camera and turned it on shortly before I passed the exit for the airport and took a picture of my driving PAST the exit sign for the airport so they would know that I did NOT visit the airport !!
