Dispatch in 3…2…1

skyI’m not sure what I think will happen when I hit that submit button but I know whatever it is that I can’t undo it. My goal for this week had been one application submitted online per day. It seems a lofty goal, however, I already have the appropriate materials gathered to submit with the online portion and the online portion of the application can be submitted prior to the packet of supplementary materials that must be mailed in. It is now Wednesday and I have just completed my first online application which I began yesterday. My first submitted app will be the University of Virginia, the earliest deadline for submission out of my six choices. The application is finished and waiting for me to push that submit button and yet I feel that fear inside me, nipping at my heels like a boisterous Jack Russell – have I forgotten something? Are they going to laugh at my undergraduate GPA and throw me in the unwanted pile without considering the rest of “me”? Did I neglect some crucial point of information on the application? I know the answers to all of these questions and yet my finger still hovers over that mouse button as I stare at the words¬† “Please note that you can submit your application only once and that once submitted, you will not be able to make changes to your application information using the online application system.

Oh well, here goes nothing…

I totally know what you mean. An application just never seems good enough and you worry that by sending it out too soon you will stumble errors or change your mind about an essay. ahh so stressful!
