International Festival

flagsToday’s Saturday adventure was the International Festival here in Raleigh. I was astounded at how much we ended up spending for how little we came away with but it was still a fun experience. We walked around and saw booths from a ton of different countries – although some countries put more effort in than others. Then we hit the part that we had both gone for – the food. There were something like twenty different countries represented in their own booth selling different varieties of food and snacks and we sampled a good variety. I had Pakistani for lunch with Iranian ice cream afterward, a Dutch donut and half of a French crepe – although it should be said that the Pakistani food was too spicy for my liking so I mostly ate sweets for lunch. Buzz settled with Israeli for lunch followed by Dutch fish then the rest of my Pakistani food, the rest of the Dutch donuts, the rest of the Iranian ice cream and the other half of the French crepe. It sounds like a ton of food but for the most part we shared things and I ended up not eating all that much…I did sort of make up for it when I got home and found the fresh Chinese buns that Buzz brought home yesterday though! Today has been all about the food…I better hit the gym hard on Monday though!
