More Apartment Hunting

apartmentsToday we spent a good part of the day shopping around at other apartment complexes. We covered two. One was a no go, it was beautiful but just not worth the money for the square footage. The second is in the running for first choice. They have a really beautiful three bedroom plan but it’s $1120 a month which is more than we’re looking to pay. The second and third choices are two bedroom floor plans which are nice and under our $1,000 budget but there is a significant lack of deck – as in the type of balcony you find at a hotel and could fit two small bistro chairs on. This bothers me a lot, it does not bother Buzz as much.

We also dropped back in to our first choice apartments to see whether there was any wriggle room on the prices, there wasn’t. Our only choice for that complex is a 2 bed 2 1/2 bath for $950 which isn’t bad and it’s a nice place but we feel shorted after being shown a much bigger 3 bed 2 bath for $990 that has now gone up to $1180.

Our problem now is that we have to weigh the pros and cons, see what our options are and which factors we are willing to give in on and which things we absolutely must have in our new home. It’s a total pain in the ass to be honest, the little things that shouldn’t be a big deal. The perfect home for us is always $100-200 out of reach and it’s really getting on my nerves.
