Silence Is…Sad!

SilenceWell the house has cleared out! We got Nana to the airport at just before 4pm. After getting her luggage checked in and calling for her wheelchair and assistant to get her through to the plane it was time to see her off already. We had assumed we’d have a little time to spend with her before she was whisked away but the assistant told us that after getting through the security checkpoint it would be almost time to board. So we quickly said our goodbyes and desperately fought back tears – although I admit to a few tears that I quickly swallowed back with ridiculously fast blinking. Nana’s assistant wheeled her off through the airport and we stood and watched until we couldn’t see her anymore and went to get a drink for a little while just in case the flight was delayed and we could see her again. As it turned out it wasn’t too delayed and we didn’t get to see Nana again. It was a quiet night last night, with just me, Mum and Dad and it promises to be so for the next couple of weeks but we still intend of making the best of it!
