The Grocery Predicament

groceriesLately I have been run off my feet, it is no ones fault but my own for biting off more than I could chew but with Christmas fast approaching I intend on doing any and all work that I can in order to make sure that I can provide my family with a great Christmas this year. As a result of working like a mad man; however, certain things have begun to suffer. Take for example the fact that I haven’t vacuumed the house in…oh, I’d say about 8 weeks? Lucky for me Buzz runs around with that vacuum or else we’d be living in a pile of dog hair. Another thing that suffers is grocery shopping. I love to coupon and search for deals and get the lowest bill possible when grocery shopping but lately between a lack of time, bad coupons, no great deals in the store and did I mention running out of time? I have been letting the house go dry. I mean absolutely dry, as in nothing but half an onion and some mustard in the fridge. Today I have to get to the grocery store and so I pushed back my schedule, cut some corners and now at just before 9 am I am about to embark on a grocery shop. I used to get excited to use my coupons and save money but today I am just tired and a little disheartened by the fact that I have only three coupons to use and a very short grocery list consisting of very few fresh foods and far too many processed frozen meals. Still, at least we will be eating at home rather than running down to McDonalds for the dollar menu as Buzz did last night – thankfully for me I can’t stand the stuff and settled for leftovers from lunch. Tonight; however, will be TV dinners all the way…or perhaps chicken patties and sweet potato fries? One thing is for certain, it’ll be something quick!
