Monday Mingle – January 25, 2010

monday mingle

It’s Monday Mingle time again and today I am fashionably late but I’m here and that’s what counts! If you would like to take part in today’s Monday Mingle hop on over to Jennifer’s blog at Eighty MPH Mom and grab the button and you’re off!

This week’s questions (submitted by Colette from Jamerican Spice) were:
1. Would you accept an invitation to do a survivor show? What would you hate most about being on the show?
2. When/how did you learn to ride a bicycle?
3. What do you want to have accomplished (personally) in your lifetime?

Pay attention and you’ll see Jet do an “Oh Hai” moment

    Hai to Jet! LOL

I agree – I wouldn’t make it far on that show for that reason! They’d all conspire against us and vote the nice girls off 😉

Pyschology! That was probably one of my favorite classes in high school – so interesting!

    Have a good week!! 🙂

Jet says Hai back, I just love how he lifted his head as he was walking by as though to say “so what’s going on?”!

If I got voted off for being a nice girl I would be so angry LOL

Psychology is the subject for me, I never did well with math or anything like that but peoples brains…well they excite me LOL

Maybe this week won’t be quite so long for you.

Celebrity Survivor sounds more like my sort of thing, especially if you throw Chris Meloni and Tim Roth in there…YES PLEASE!

    Nicole says:

Even though I’d still sign up to be a participant for Survivor, I think the mean people would be tough to handle. I totally agree with you that there’s no excuse, not even money, to treat others badly. Being that they don’t accept Canadians on the show, I won’t ever need to deal with that . . . lol.

Your grad studies sound very interesting with really cool career prospects!!

    • Amy says:

Thanks Nicole! I’m very excited to start grad school…it’s the first time in my life that I’ve been excited about school and known where I want to head in life, it’s an amazing feeling!

I don’t think there is such a thing as doing the mingle late..LOL I’ve done it on a Wednesday before 🙂

Totaly agree about Survivor. What kills me is people justify being a-holes on there by saying they were just playing the game. Well what happened with playing with integrity for crying out loud. ICk.

Anywho, some day we’ll be calling you Dr.Mevolving 🙂 Can’t wait!

    Have a great week!

Wednesday Mingle made me laugh 😀
I would totally play Survivor with integrity and end up getting voted off in the first few days! So not worth eating bugs!

Dr. Amy would probably sound a little better than Dr. Mevolving LOL but it would raise a few eyebrows at work wouldn’t it 😀

    Karie says:

See I knew that I always felt comfortable around you because of the psychology. LOL Just kidding. I agree that all the mean spirited people and jazz is not for me. So glad you found work…you sound excited but not…I have to email you back too…been a crazy week! ((HUGS))

    • Amy says:

I’m excited to have the income for sure but it’s just hard to manage it while trying to study up for grad school, that said I can and will do it because it is necessary. The benefit of being in grad school is that I can focus on research and school and won’t have to work thank goodness!

    Stefany says:

    Hi Jet! 🙂

    First, I love your accent.

Second, I loooove psychology! My first degree is in Psychology/Sociology (double major) and I always considered going back to school for that. Good luck with your schooling!

I envy your part-time jobs from home. I need one of those.

    Have a great week!

    • Amy says:

Why thank you 😀 I considered returning to school for 8 years and change before actually starting the process but I’m glad I’m on my way now!

Part time jobs from home have plusses but they’re also a lot more stressful because there is no leaving work at work, you have to keep going until they’re done and clients are happy!

I also am too nice to be on Survivor, but even more of a problem would be that I’m too much of a wimp. I never could do it.

    Wow… the FBI… cool.

Drag about the laptop… i can relate, I’ve been having lots of tech issues.

    Talk soon

    Hi Amy!

It was fun to see Jet…I think he just wanted to hang out with you LOL.

Nope on Survivor – good answer!

I am so sorry about your laptop – what a drag! It takes forever to get them fixed and back to how you like them. Hopefully it will be perfect soon!

    Thanks for mingling!

Jet is a real mummy’s boy and always has to hang out with me LOL
No biggie on the laptop, it’s all fixed now 😀
      Thanks for dropping in!

    I’m so late 🙂

Good to see you again beautiful.

I am too shy and nice and do get my feelings hurt easily too but that’s why I think I’d take the chance to be challenged 🙂

Is your mom willing to learn to ride? I desire to do so much and it really does not matter how old I’m getting.

I do have my mind on working for a govt agency too but I want to do something else more which is working with kids.

Good wishes on finishing your PHD. And sometimes your family come intermingled with your career. 🙂

In all honesty I never planned on having children until I was in my late 30s. I wanted to go to college and get my PHD, get a great job, buy my own home and then think about a family of my own. Somewhere along that way of going to school at night and working in the day, a family came into the package 🙂

Glad you have your laptop back. I hope you didn’t lose too much stuff.

    Have a lovely weekend!

    • Amy says:

Aww you are too sweet! My mom isn’t willing to learn how to ride, she’s afraid of falling which is a little strange since she falls all the time (the lack of coordination that came with MS) but that’s okay we tell her she can ride in a sidecar with us 😀

I didn’t lose too much with the laptop going down but only because Buzz saved the day, had I had my way I would have thrown the thing away LOL

I think being a child advocate is a VERY special job and that you would be great at it!
