Monday Mingle – May 3, 2010

Monday Mingle

It’s Monday again which means only one thing! It’s time for Monday Mingle! If you want to get in on the mingling fun drop by Jen’s blog over at EightyMPHMom.com !

THIS WEEK’S QUESTIONS (submitted by Erin from Mrs. Cox’s Slice o’ Heaven!):

1. If you had the financial ability to donate $100,000 to a charity, which would it be and why?

2. Have you given money to a panhandler before?
3. Have you ever given your time at a soup kitchen, homeless shelter, etc. ?

Oh, hon, I pray that you don’t have MS. But I completely understand the paranoia, I had cancer before and every time I feel a bump I start to panic. Wow, you’ve done a lot of charity work. My children have to do similar projects in order to graduate but it’s not required until their junior/senior year. Anyway, have a good week.

Thank you Daenel, I will add you to my prayer list that you may stay healthy! I certainly think charity work should be required in school, it teaches kids so much about helping others.

Ahh. MS is a wonderful thing to donate too.
    that is cool.
I think I would be worried too if my mom had MS too.
There does need to be a cure you are right.

Panhandler–That’s what I say too. Yeah, you don’t know if they need it. But if I can help, I help sometimes. I just don’t like to be taken advantage of…Sometimes it happens.

I WOULD love to help pass food out in a homeless shelter. Way awesome! Thanks for mingling once again!!!

    enjoyed your answers!

I’ll be thinking and praying that it’s just paranoia. Which sounds odd to see typed out but you know what I mean.

Public schools need to adapt the same type of community outreach requirement as well. I think a lot of kids grow into adults never experiencing what it means to serve.

Hope you and Jet have a great time in Florida with your family and that you come home to many projects done!

Glad to see you mingling again!

Lucky that you’re going to Florida… very nice.

I’m so sorry to hear about your mom having MS and your worry that you also will get it. It is such an important charity… we definitely need to find a cure.

That’s great that you had those opportunities to volunteer. But yes, it can be upsetting too. I actually was a little scarred by volunteering with my family at a soup kitchen when I was only 6 yrs old. I was so sensitive and I was traumatized by the suffering and was afraid for years that would happen to me.

    Mrs. Cox says:

Hello it’s great to see ya! Oooh Florida. Oh I said the MS Society too! Wow. My grandmother had MS, though at the time I didn’t know very much about it at all. It’s a great cause.

I think community service in schools is a great thing. Our school had a mandatory # of hours each year. But I did most of my volunteering through our Youth Group. I would LOVE to work with Habitat. That’s an awesome organization. 🙂

Hope you have a great week!

I totally forgot to mention our MS similarity in my comment on your mingle LOL My brain was moving too fast for my fingers…which happens a lot unfortunately LOL

Habitat is SUCH a great organization to help with!

I was MIA too! No big deal.

I totally agree about your panhandling stance. If a person puts themselves out there, they probably need it much more than I do.

I’ll send my best wishes and prayers your way that the gene skips over you. Prayers for you mom as well.
