Hazelaid Hazelwood-Amber Necklace *Review*

hazelwoodTwo weeks ago I was reading Organic Girl’s blog and entered her contest to win a Hazelaid necklace. After reading the post she made about all the potential benefits from wearing a necklace made from Hazelwood I was intrigued and did a little investigating in to Hazelaid necklaces. Hazelwood has been used in necklaces by Aboriginal peoples for a very long time to sooth their children’s teething pains but Hazelwood has also been shown to aid with digestion, constipation, eczema, prevent ailments such as migraines, acid reflux, heart burn, nausea, arthritis, skin problems etc. There really is no end to the amazing properties of the Hazelwood branch and now Hazelaid has released these cute necklace, bracelet and anklet’s in both adult and child sizes.

After finding out that I had won Organic Girl’s contest I went over to pick out my very own Hazelaid necklace. I decided on the Hazelwood-Amber Honey Amber necklace pictured above because it combines the health benefits of Hazelwood listed above with the anti-inflammatory and pain relief properties of amber. Suffering from migraines which bring the lovely side effect of sight loss as well as back pain remaining from a combination of auto accidents I thought this necklace, if any of them, was going to be the one that helped me.

It didn’t take long at all for my necklace to arrive and I have to say that I LOVE how it looks. The casual unisex look to it gives me an accessory to match with my jean and t-shirt days and I love it. I’ve had my Hazelwood-Amber necklace for about a week now, I haven’t noticed a reduction in pain from my back and I can’t comment on migraine prevention because I don’t suffer from constant migraines (they are stress induced and thank the LORD some of my stress has been reduced with the grad application process moving along nicely.) Regardless of whether the Hazelwood-Amber necklace works to prevent my migraines or not though it’s still a gorgeous piece of casual jewelry and I will continue to wear it if only for fashion’s sake.

I’d like to thank Organic Girl for running such a great contest and Hazelaid for providing me with the chance to check out the healing properties of Hazelwood and Amber!
