Palma Collection Hosono Necklace

palmaSince I decided to go back to school I have become slightly more concerned with how I dress. I was never the prissy girl, I didn’t care about clothes and wore makeup to cover uneven skin tone but aside from that I was a jeans, t-shirt and sneakers kind of girl. Upon deciding to go back to school I also decided that it was time for me to take a little more pride in my appearance, after all I wanted to be seen as a professional so taking $200 I went to TJ Maxx and Ross and outfitted myself with a new wardrobe, I also dropped about $20 on costume jewelry from e-bay and flea market stalls (new not used, I only mention this because at some point you should become aware that I am a complete germ-o-phobe). The costume jewelry I invested in broke or tarnished within the first few weeks of wear and I was left without my cute accessories to accentuate the neckline of my gorgeous new shirts.

Fast forward to a few weeks ago when I decided it was time to start re-populating my costume jewelry box and I entered a contest over at Michelle’s blog Mkokopelli! The prize for the contest was a Hosono necklace from the Palma collection and I just knew that it would go perfectly with some of my more professional wardrobe.

It was late last week that my Hosono necklace arrived. I chose the red because I already have a gorgeous blue necklace that I picked up in Myrtle Beach when I was there a few weeks ago. The Hosono necklace comes in red, lime green, turquoise, pink, orange, yellow and purple. Of the choices red suits me most so i went with it, and what a GORGEOUS shade of red it is! I have to admit that when my necklace arrived and I pulled it out of the gorgeous mesh baggie that it came in, I was a little flummoxed. The necklace wasn’t tied, instead it was a long untied string with the charms at either end of the suede necklace, but after pulling up the picture of this particular necklace I realized that all I had to do was thread the charms through the ring and I could adjust my own necklace length! I actually really like being able to do this because it allows me to set the necklace at a length that works for me and for the outfit I’ve chosen to wear for the day. I didn’t manage to grab any pictures of me wearing my newest accessory yet because to be quite honest with all the paperwork I’ve been printing and sealing in envelopes combined with other daily duties I’ve simply been bumming around in jeans and t’s.

If you are looking for a new piece of jewelry to accessorize your newest work outfit and want something a little out of the ordinary I highly recommend the Palma Collection Hosono necklace, not only because it’s bright and gorgeous but also because it’s so unique! You’ll never blend in with this necklace and you’ll certainly never look like you picked it up at a flea market stall!

I’d like to thank Michelle over at Mkokopelli for having such a wonderful contest and Palma Collection for offering up such a beautiful prize!
